Wesley Carr studied Industrial Design at Auburn University and first specialized in production boat design with positions at Chris Craft Boats, Monterey Boats, and US Marine. He has also provided consulting design to Endeavor, Baglietto, Cat Cay, Westship, and Lazzara yacht builders.
Wesley has served as vice chair for the IDSA Florida Chapter, on the advisory committee of the Art Institute of Lauderdale's Industrial Design Department, and as a guest speaker for pre-college career development seminars. He is also a competitive sailor and Ironman triathlete.
In 1995, Wesley became the in-house designer for Trident Shipworks producing several yachts from the 124’ Lady Florence to the 142 Westship Lady. The most notable yacht was the 132' Crili (former Katharine, Sandra Lynn) having created the exterior design and the interior layout, architectural details, and furnishings. Westship World Yachts acquired Trident Shipworks in 2000 and continued to build designs developed during his tenure.
As principal of Carr Design, his focus is to provide design services to builders of custom and series yachts, as well as comercial vessels, furniture design, and various other cool projects. Recent projects include a couple of new models for Sea Force IX, a new Jupiter 39, and a 50m custom yacht.
