The Continental models were introduced as the higher end models and larger size range of cruisers. The Crowne series covered the 23 to 34′ range as a transition to a very contemporary exterior design, and away from the typical 1980’s interior build methods. The interior transition focused on clearing the manufacturing habits of using random wood trim to cover every joint, closeout, door frame etc, regardless of the interior design. Priority was given space utilization, unique and flowing layouts, and refined aesthetics assured Chris Craft had embraced a new direction.
The Continentals established a market-leading exterior design, with sophisticated interiors. The exterior design focused on enjoyment of views and interaction to each other, as well as utility of helms, wetbars, and moving around he boat. This resulted in unique transom form, side deck steps up from the swim platform, and a forward tub for seating and anchor management. Below decks featured cherry wood cabinets designed with extensive hardwood features for a refined interior, maximized for overnights.
The 380 was introduced as the express cruiser model, ahead of the 420 bridgedeck model – GA shown below.
